Sacramento Shakespeare Festival

William A Carroll Amphitheatre, William Land Park,

The Sacramento Shakespeare Festival is produced in Sacramento, by Sacramento, and for Sacramento. Our home is the Theatre Arts Department at Sacramento City College, at the geographical and cultural heart of this great city. This department provides the core staff, designers, directors, and actors. The buildings provide our work spaces, the school assures our infrastructure, and the costume stock outfits our actors. We use Sacramento vendors, William Land Park and its employees, and staff and artists from throughout the Sacramento region. And when we perform, it is in Sacramento's own back yard.

In addition to Shakespeare in the Park, we produce Shakespeare Lite -- two abridged productions that travel to schools and fairs and community centers, a High School Internship Program, a Staged Reading Series, a 30-Hour Shakespeare Comedy Reading Marathon, Shakespeare in Spanish, an Original Practices Reading and Staging Program, and Shakespeare Workshops in Schools. Our mission is to bring Shakespeare's work to life for anyone in Sacramento who will have us.
