The Festival

TerraVita Food & Drink Festival began in October 2010 and has been named one of the “10 Southern Food Festivals You Need to Taste” by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and “4 Can’t Miss Southern Food Festivals” by PeterGreenberg.com. Far more than a chance to indulge, TerraVita has earned its reputation as a premier culinary event in the Southeast because of its commitment to spreading the gospel of sustainable food and drink and promoting award-winning chefs, authors, educators, producers and farmers.

“Our goal is to create an amazing experience – while working with participants, volunteers, partners and attendees who care about how that experience affects the earth," says TerraVita Founder Colleen Minton. "We are also committed to developing content that challenges those participating on both sides of the table. Ultimately, we want to produce four thought-provoking, unforgettable days that touch our community and provide many delicious bites, as well."

The Chapel Hill, NC-based fall festival, now in its ninth year, offers exceptional dinners, tasting events, after parties and chef demos as well as the Sustainable Classroom – educational sessions featuring renowned chefs, authors and national media. In all, more than 100 different participants come from all across the Southeast and beyond. As one of the country’s leading events focused on sustainable food and drink, TerraVita lives its mission of producing a zero-waste event by employing the intensive use of compostable goods and recycling nearly all of the waste produced at the event.
